Writing is freedom. It's colouring a picture in your mind and stepping in, styling the path ahead as you go.
From a young age I have written, whether it was binding my own stories in primary school or writing letters for my favourite magazines. As a retired sprinter, mum and sports therapist BSc I found my way back to my favourite pursuit - story telling; inspired by the life I lead and the people I've got to know along the way.
My favourite books are Jane Eyre (Charlotte Bronte) and A Court Of Mist And Fury (SJ Maas). I adore epic love stories that have you kicking your feet and stinging your eyes fighting sleep. Books that I always recommend people read (after my own of course), are Fluke (James Herbert) and Never Let Me Go (Kazuo Ishiguro) because they still make me stare into space pondering life.
Although women are better represented in the media these days, as a survivor of trauma I felt that stereotypes were overplayed and real women's stories diluted. It's important for me to show all the colours of my characters and provide plot lines real people can identify with. All packaged in the stories I love to read - romances.
I never thought I could write a book, let alone several. But I am so glad I sat down and started typing and I am so grateful you are here reading this.
